First General Assembly of the World Tourism Alliance to be Held in Chengdu

The 1st General Assembly of the World Tourism Alliance will be convened in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, from the 10th through the 13th of September, 2017. The World Tourism Alliance is a non-government, non-profit organization with an international membership that includes tourism associations, influential tourism enterprises, think tanks, research institutes, scholars and luminaries. Its headquarters and administration are based in Beijing, China. Following the vision of Better Tourism, Better World and the objectives of promoting tourism for development, poverty reduction and peace, the WTA is committed to enhancing international exchanges and cooperation in the global tourism community, building consensus, sharing experience and deepening cooperation. Through strengthening communication and coordination with major international organizations, the sustainable and inclusive development of the world tourism industry will be promoted, and a platform for exchange and cooperation between the civil sector and government will be established.
