Ningxia

Ningxia, known as the “Jiangnan Beyond the Great Wall,” is situated along the Silk Road and has historically been a region connecting the Central Plains to the Western Regions and linking the northern deserts. It has been a frequent thoroughfare for various ethnic groups. Traversed by the Yellow River, Ningxia boasts an ancient and rich Yellow River civilization, where human activity dates back to as early as 40,000 years ago. Ningxia is home to numerous renowned tourist attractions, including the Sand Lake, Shapotou, the China Western Film Studios, the Yellow River Grand Canyon, the Western Xia Imperial Tombs, and Shuidonggou. On the eastern foothills of Ningxia’s Helan Mountains is the globally recognized “golden area” for wine grape cultivation. Thanks to its unique geographical location and ecological environment, Ningxia is one of the best places for stargazing in China, acclaimed as the “Hometown of the Stars.”
