“Nihao! China” 2024 Silk Road Tourism Overseas Promotion Season

Foreward

The Silk Road, as an ancient bridge for exchange of the Eastern and Western civilizations, connected the Chinese and ancient Roman, Persian and Indian civilisations. The ancient trade route not only carried goods such as silk, spices, and porcelain but also transmitted technology, art, religion, and ideas, fostering the development and progress of human civilization and leaving an indelible mark on history. In 2013, China launched the “Silk Road Economic Belt” and the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” initiatives, aiming to promote exchange and mutual learning among countries and regions along the Silk Road, achieve common development, and contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

The feature programme vividly showcases the magnificent natural scenery, diverse ethnic cultures, and profound cultural heritage of the regions and cities along the “Silk Road Economic Belt” and the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” through various mediums such as videos, pictures and texts to promote peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit along the Silk Road. It highlights beautiful landscapes, rich cultures, and colorful folk customs of thirteen provinces/regions/cities in China, including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Fujian, Henan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, and Xinjiang.

Let’s travel the Silk Road online to explore the charm and splendor of the cities along the Silk Road!
