Changchun is known as North China’s Spring City. It is the largest auto-manufacturing city in China and the birthplace of Chinese movies. The automobile and movie industries are symbolic of the city.
Imperial Palace of "Manchukuo"
The Imperial Palace was the palace of the last “Manchukuo” Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, Aisin Giorro Puyi. It has dozens of buildings of various sizes, and ancient and modem, foreign and Chinese architectural styles.
Eight Ministry Buildings of "Manchukuo"
“The Eight Ministries” were the eight governing bodies of “Manchukuo”, and their eight buildings make up the building group with Dizhi Palace as the center. The eight buildings have different styles combining Chinese and Western elements.
Changchun Movie Amusement Park
Changchun Movie Amusement Park is known as the Oriental Hollywood. Its design was inspired by the USA’s Disneyland. The studio adopts 4D special effects, laser levitation, an orthogonal multi-stage and other advanced technologies. It is listed into the World Top 10 Amusement Parks.
Jingyue Pond (Crescent Pond)’s name comes from its crescent-like shape. It is most famous for its mountain and water landscapes. Since 2003, it has been the venue for the Swiss Vasaloppet International Cross-Country Ski Competition, and has hosted many other ski festivals over the years.
Changchun World Landscape Park
Changchun World Landscape Park is the only world culture theme park in the three provinces of Northeast China. It has replicas of the magnificent Arch de Triumph, mysterious Angkor Wat and the most exotic Borobudur.
Changchun World Sculpture Park
Changchun World Sculpture Park has the most diverse art styles in the world, with more and more sculpture artists hoping their works will be displayed in the park, which has become an art sanctuary full of charm and creativity.
Beidahu Ski Resort
Beidahu Ski Resort combines competition, tourism, exercise and rehabilitation. It has a great natural terrain, flat slopes and steep cliffs. Snow falls there about 160 days per year.
Songhua Lake is a large artificial lake formed out of the Songhua River. The narrow lake is surrounded by Mount Nanlou and the Laoye Ridge, providing beautiful scenery.
Longwan Lake is an alpine lake formed by ancient volcanoes eruptions. Its blue waters dot the mountains like a string of pearls. It is the largest volcano crater lake cluster in China.
Jilin Soft Rime
Jilin Soft Rime has picturesque beauty described as “Spring in Winter”. It is one of the Four Chinese Natural Wonders with the other three being the landscapes of Guilin, the Stone Forest in Lunnan and the Three Gorges on the Yangtze River.
Soft Rime Island
Soft Rime Island earns its name from the wonderful winter scenes of soft rime. The island is located in the Songhua River. When winter comes, the mist evaporated from the river will shroud the island with the trees and cottages covered by soft rime.
Jilin Rime Ice and Snow Festival
Jilin Rime Ice and Snow Festival takes place in mid-January each year. During the event, one can see the grand ice lantern and colored lantern gala, winter sport games, river lantern release, fireworks, on-land boat carnival and folk dance typical in Northeast China.
Ji’an has fascinating sceneries and a long history. In 37 B.C., Northern China’s Koguryo ethnic group established an administration in this region. Today, the Capital City and Tombs of the Ancient Koguryo Kingdom have been listed as World Cultural Heritage Sites.
Wunv Peak is located on the bank of Yalu River. It is not only home to diverse wild lives, but also to the Three Treasures of Northeast China, namely, ginseng, velvet antler and fur. In addition, the region is rich in wild vegetables, fruit and mountain products.
Laohushao is located with mountains on one side and waters on the other three. Across the river is the DPRK’s Weiyuan County. On both banks one can see peaks, rocks and long shoals. The winding Yalu River forms a distinct natural landscape here.

The Yalu River is lined with mountains and fascinating scenery. The winding river has many dangerous turns and rapid currents. The border bridge and border dam witness the friendship between the DPRK and China.
The Koguryo Kingdom
The Koguryo Kingdom was established in 37 13.C. and ended in 668 A.D. It found its center in Ji’an, the area with the richest Koguryo cutural heritage, boasting attractions such as the General’s Tomb, Gungnae Fortress, H wan do Mountain Fortress and the Gwanggacto Stele.

The Genera’s Tomb resembles the tombs of the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt. Because of this, it is also known as the Pyramid of the Orient. It is shaped like a square altar with eight flights of stairs. The entire tomb is built with exquisitely carved granite, presenting great splendor
Hwando Mountain Fortress
Hwando Mountain Fortress is built on the steep Hwando Hill. The high-rise fencing walls arc built in irregular rectangular form and much of the original structure is still preserved. It is the only mountain capital city remaining from the Koguryo Kingdom.
Gungnae Fortress is located on the Tonggou Plains. With strong fencing walls, It looks solemn and aesthetic. Gungnae Fortress and Hwando Mountain Fortress were both capital cities, representing a new model of capital complexes in the history of the world’s capital architecture.
Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture is the largest Korean community in China. It is characterized by Northern China and frontier landscapes and diverse ethnic styles. Its border location allows visitors to forget themselves among the magnificent scenery of three countries at once.
Fangchuan is located at the estuary of the Tumen River at the border between the DPRK and China and between the DPRK and Russia. It is known as the “Orient’s First Village”.Located in the border area between China, the DPRK and Russia, its landscape includes scenes from three countries.
Tumen City is located in the lower reaches of the Tumen River. The National Gate on the bridge end is high and splendid. East of the Gate is the Tumen River Bridge governed by China and the DPRK. On the riverside one can appreciate the scenery of the border river and its exotic landscapes.
Hongqi Korean Village
Hongqi Village has special local dishes including dog meat soup, beef soup, river fish soup and pickled vegetables of all kinds. Other special local snacks include Korean cold noodles, sesame rice cakes, pancakes and barbecue. Local activities include swinging, springboarding, wrestling, etc.
Xianjing Platform is located opposite the DPRK on the Tumen River. It has mysterious granite topography and is the best place to view wonderful peaks, pine trees and the sunrise above the clouds. Its beauty is characterized by the fascinating peaks, cliffs and rocks.
Mount Liuding is located on the southern bank of the Mudan River. It combines the culture of Bohai Kingdom, Buddhist culture and the ancestral culture of the Qing Dynasty. Places of interest include the ancient tombs in Bohai Kingdom, Zhengjue Temple, the Ancestor Temple of Qing Dynasty and the Jinding Buddha Statue.
Mount Mao’er stands on the highest point in Yanji City. Standing on the peak, one can see the whole city. It has the Korean Folk Customs Park with Korean-style residences. Many entertainment activities such as circus performances are held regularly in the park.
The fishing tribe of Chagan Lake in Songyuan City of Jilin Province is the sole primitive fishing tribe in North China that still uses traditional winter fishing methods. Because of this, it is regarded as the symbol of fishing culture in North China.
Xianghai Wetland is a scenic area characterized by views of prairie swamps, birds, animals, reed clusters and fishing. Many rare birds such as red and white- crowned cranes live in the region, giving this region the nickname “Crane village”.
The Prairie Canal, 53.8 kilometers long, starts from the Songhua River, east of Orlos, and flows into the large Chagan Lake. The long canal looks like a shining silver ribbon on the vast prairie, making it an attractive wonder.
Changbai Mountain, one of the top 10 mountains in China, has the most fascinating scenery in Northeast China. It is regarded as a sacred mountain by the Manchurian and Korean ethnic groups and characterized by its immense stature, wild atmosphere and icey scenery.
Tianchi Lake on Changbai Mountain
Tianchi Lake on Changbai Mountain is located on the border between China and the DPRK. It is the largest volcano crater lake and the deepest lake in China. Tianchi is surrounded by high steep peaks and has clear water.
Changbai Waterfall is located on the north of Tianchi Lake. Because of its high stature, wild atmosphere and altitude, falling water columns create the appearance of two white dragons, crashing down, producing multiple water fountains, and forming a 20-meter-deep pond below the cliff.
Forest Sea in the Valley
The Forest Sea in the valley has numerous ancient trees and huge rocks. Entering this dark and primitive forest, one can discover a variety of mosses and bodies of water in the mysterious and tranquil environment.
Changbai Hot Springs
The water volume, temperature, quality and other features of the Changbai Hot Springs remain constant throughout the year. Known as the Best Hot Springs in China, they contains dozens of mineral substances. The Changbai Hot Springs are also known for the “World’s Best Bath” and the “Heaven Bath”.
