The short film series Beijing: More than Meets the Eye is an international communication brand project launched by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism since 2021. By creatively combining contents of culture with scenes of famous tourist attractions, the series introduces a brand new visual experience to international communication. In these films, the audience are able to enjoy both the best scenery and the finest form of art in Beijing at the same time, and the overall experience is certainly more than meets the eye.

The first season of the series featured a total of 9 episodes and received unanimous acclaim from domestic and international audiences. After airing on “Visit Beijing,” the official SNS account of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, many audience from around the world stated that Beijing must be added to their destination list.

In September 2023, the second season of Beijing: More than Meets the Eye officially kicked off.
